V8 Shortblock or 6 Speed
Yes i got one for mine it does respond to g-forces and throttle input, but not sure how it compares to the OEM dccd system.
Well if you want the highway MPG you'll want the USDM 6-speed the JDM 6-speed has a shorter 5th and 6th gear.
I would expect to find them for around 3,800

For what i need my car for and driving i do, I'd love to keep the 5 speed w/ stronger gearset. Otherwise, the six speed with different gear ratios.
You need to consider AVCS if running just the SB, how much you may want that new technology, since you're swapping parts out anyway.
Still, get the gears in until you actually need to do the motor, but for me i'd do both if $$ allows.

LOL lorenzo, I though you was referring "V8" to the actual muscle car V8 block. Duh, you meant Version 8.
I would just get the longblock since your loaded!!
Are you going for a straight 2L mix or hybrid? One famous hybrid build is the 25L bottom with a 20L top. There are even guys running 20L bottom with 25L heads(2.5rs i.e.) since they flow somewhat better than the 20L. Are you looking to achieve some horsepower goal?? With this in mind, the only difference between the V8 and V7 bottom ends are the pistons. V8 pistons can support more cylinder pressure but do not stand up to knock as well as the V7's IIRC...
On a side note...EJ22G WTF!!

no HP goals...
I want to stick with the 2.0. I heard you have to modify if you mix 2.0 and 2.5. donʻt want to do that. I want to get the Version 8 because it is more new and itʻs FORGED

Buy that short block you were looking at on Nabisco. I emailed that guy and it seems pretty legit. EJ20G closed deck with piston oil squirters,STI crank, Crawford rods, v7 forged pistons, ACL bearings. Should be more than stout enough for your power goals.
