Turbo Back?

I'm looking into purchasing a turbo back for my 04 rex and I'm really not sure what to get. I get such different responses to my questions that I don't know what to think. I want something that sounds good, but not too loud, and something in the neighborhood of $1,000. Huge hp gains are not necessary, but it would be nice to have something with decent gains. If anyone can give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it. If anyone thinks that I should go with a catback and a seperate downpipe, I'll take that advice as well.

you should go to the "review" section and read up on the exhaust models and feedbacks. ultimately you have the say on what mods you buy or put on. you should research and see what exhaust looks and sounds right for you.

It would be nice if there were more reviews, it seems like on average you find about one review per part. I just wanted some people's personal opinion on the matter because the reviews only give me a little bit of info.

Hey Zillig...I got a magazine article that has tests on like 10 Turbobacks with actual dyno numbers and sound level stuffs. Reming me on thursday to bring it or find it online.

Also, try to sample as many of the HIIC'ers stuff as possible to get a good feel for it. Don't forget the UP as well with your turbo back.

Well, you can really help us out by narrowing down your choice, then ask for our opinion. I like my JIC semi-Ti. Fitment is great, no bumper melting, sounds is good, bend is minimal (might be too loud for your taste), but I like the boxer rumble loud. Don't be lazy!

Bpang, I'll try and remember to remind you before Thursday. That is what I need to look at to try and weed out specific brands.

I'd like something like the Nur Spec Touring because I love the sound and I know it has good hp gains, but maybe something with a bit smaller exit would be nice. I'm still trying to decide between a turbo back or cat back with u/d pipes.

Luktang, do you know anything about the HKS setup, or anyone else for that matter? It seems like a price tag that I would be interested in(for the up/down and catback), but I really don't know much about it.

my friend bought a RSR TBE from Vakamon for about 900 bucks- very nice finish, full 3 inches... and sounds aggressive. comes with a silencer(boo, hiss). if you wanna see/hear it let me know. he has a red 04/wrx wagon- his screenname is redbull, but he never posts up.

^^^That's not the exact one I was looking for (that is all cat-backs) but it's reading material to start. I think I have the paper copy of the article (turbo-backs) that I'm really looking for.

Yes, I do. The HKS is a big cannon exhaust too... I think it has the same tip diameter as the blitz. It's not as loud as the blitz but still nice. 808subaru is running the HKS Hi-Power. You can ask him at the meet. I would not recommend you, however, the HKS downpipe. The design is same as stock (you don't want that). Go w/ Helix if you're on a budget. They're really nice. myroncuz has them.
