no, the guy in the Audi is a captain in the navy.
What he did was fine, he passed everyone on the inside of the turn, the dumb f*ck holding up traffic was the problem, he didn't even SEE the people passing him in his mirrors!! The Audi was twice as fast as the other cars in that group, and he won't be running in that class again, it was just his first time at an open track, he is an autoX Regular.

So I take it there are no point-bys for passing? The car being passed doesn't give a signal?

not necessarily, if you can pass, then pass.
Like I said, for the beginner and intermediate groups, you can only pass on the straightaway anyway.
For the advanced group, if you can hold your own, then do it, ... if you want to be polite and let someone by, then do it. This group has people in it anyway that Know what their car can and can't do, and they know if they're holding someone up. For example, last track day, I had to run re92's, .... so obviously after 10 minutes or so, ... my tires were Crap. So I slowed down a couple times to let guys pass with ease.
