If the stock sleeve will work I've got mine. Post up either way.

yeah i almost made the mistake of ordering the wide ones. make sure you have the narrow ones as our cars (pre 02 impreza) require them. luckily i realized my mistake and e-mailed TiC and they were very prompt in their responce and i am happy. i should have mine in today.

Sadly the stock sleeve will not work.

The rule of thumb is this:

01 and earlier get the narrow verion
SPT/STi factory short shifter for all years gets the narrow version
02 and up with the stock shifter assembly gets the wide version.

Something is up with mine. It feels like it's binding going into gear, but not side to side, just up and down. I'm going to take it apart and regrease. I torqued it down with my torque wrench but maybe it's too tight? I'll check the length against stock also. I'll post up later.

I'll just have to say I have no reference as my stock shifter assembly was so loose (before install). I did find that the torque recommendations on the install didn't work very well for me and I went lower (70 inch-lbs, or nearly 6 ft-lbs). Just felt a bit quicker with less torque.

As I said, I don't have a good reference "before" to compare with "after".
