another option, but expensive, would be a cts-v.

I looked at the CTS-v on ebay last night. Seems as though the lowest price I saw was like $35k.
On a lark, I also checked out the XLR. $45k and up.

I guess next would be to research on power to weight among those three, as well as suspension geometry.

Will bring this thread back to life (or hijack it?) since I've been in the same state of mind. Any opinions on the 2006 Lexus IS? I know it's not out yet, but some info has been released. The IS350 seems like a good jump from an STi, but it only comes in automatic.
I really do like my STi, but several issues have made me consider a change:
1) The insurance rates on the STi. I have a perfect record, yet my rates are high.
2) Recently there has been a lot of street work in Aiea (my daily commute area) and it's starting to take it's toll on my internal organs. I'm hoping they will repave the roads (including mine) soon.
3) I think my wife wants me to drive a car someone my age would normally drive.
I can't do much about number one other then change insurance, and I've thought about switching to an adjustable (STi, Cusco, etc..) for number 2.
Most of the cars I would like to have (G35 coupe, M3, etc..) are not doable right now do to my children. It needs to be a 4 door and I don't like the G35 sedan.
