Thinking of a new phone and carrier
I am tired of waiting for T-Mobile to "fix" the coverage issues in our house (Kunia). If I could get better coverage at home, I'd be tempted to disconnect our home phone. The new Motorola V600 has the Bluetooth connectivity I need for demonstrating the TL, and I'm wondering if anyone can comment on this phone? Anyone with experience with AT&T rate plans? I've heard horror stories about AT&T's customer service. If we switched, I'd probably look for some kind of "shared minute" plan for both phones. Any input would be appreciated!
with my experience, ... AT&T sucks!!!! (coverage area, line quality, & service) and I mean that with all my heart!

Honestly, I recommend Sprint PCS by far.
I want to say that one of the Sony phones has Bluetooth, ... but I don't know for sure.

i was with AT&T for a year and i ended it right away....i couldn't use my phone at KCC, UH, at my workplace...i really can't remember anything good about them...their customer service sucked...I heard good things about Sprint but a lot of my friends are on T-mobile so i decided to go with that...good luck
I'm with AT&T at the moment. I had T-mobile for a week before returning the phone. I heard the local AT&T wireless portion was bought out my cingular, so i've been sitting around waiting to see if it was a full buy out and if they'll change service or not. (By the way, no reception at my house with my cellphone. Everywhere else is fine)
My gf's mom has AT&T and the coverage here sucks. But the coverage in other areas like WA is excellent. I've had Sprint PCS since 00' in CA, WA, and now here and the service has been consistent.

AT&T is/was bought by cingular wireless. Actually thats the reason i moved over to att&T and got a gsm phone.
Honestly i have had no problems but i'm experience with customer service reps *shrugs*. Truthfully you just have to do the research and find out who has the best coverage area. Then see if you like their service reps by asking people, imo all services reps suck including overpriced ones like verizon.
I live in California , Sacramento, and this is what i found. Verizon had the best coverage for a traveling person in the states. Sprint was just too damn ****ty coverage to make their mostly clear mostly digital network function properly in my area, and att&t had the best coverage for a non traveling person like me. Now the only time i get drops is under a metal building.
Previous providers and phones:
- Verizon, Used an Erikson that abosolutely sucked *** for the longest time then i switched to a motorolla v120 which was great except it was very soft and i must be deaf becuase i could never hear anything. Then i got this audiovox phone that was absolutely the BEST phone i ever had never dropped or anything. After that phone i realized a good phone is half the battle in great coverage.
- Sprint PCS, Used a samsung half flip phone in here. Great phone but every once in awhile sprint pcs network would absolutely go flipping insane.... It was like talking through a blender.... Next their customer service was ok except for the almost annoying way they update your phone when you call... Didn't like that network at all got one year then quit.
- Tried ATT for the hell of it becuase why not? Using a flip phone fully digital NEC model. Goregous phone expensive as hell but i'll pay good money as long as it keeps me connected well. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Occassional drops when i'm in the Sac state area (CSUS) but only under large buildings. Customer service could be much better, computer anaylsis operator is a bit unnerving. All in all i care only if my phone stops working i almost never use CS so i could really care less how they treat people.
Sorry about excessive post

Nextel drives me nuts. If I didn't know a bunch of people that had Nextel (boss, girlfriend, friends) I'd drop it in a heartbeat.

Nextel is out because I must have a Bluetooth capable phone. Due to the overwhelming response, I am ruling out AT&T. I might wait for Verizon to get the Motorola V710. I may continue to look for the Z600 from Sony Ericsson. Does anyone know if this is even available on the island?

Maximal has some kind of cell phone fetish. He posts on cell phone forums like I do here on i-Club. He'll probably weigh in on this one when he sees the topic.
