suspension help... Sorry for another thread..

Sorry again to waste another thread...

Had a concern with my coils. I got bc rams and i installed it myself right out of the box. Its been a few thousand miles alrdy and no problem. Just yesterday all of a sudden i hear a clanking noise when im driving. Its only on one corner. It sounds like its loose and the spring is bouncing or something along that sound and matter. I tried seeing if anything is loose this morning and all seems well. Would anyone happen to know or have an idea what might be my problem? Feel free to msg me if needed. Again im still new to the subie world so any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Mike

Did you torque down the nut at the top of the strut properly?

The BC RAM coilovers are not intended for daily use. If you aren't re-greasing them on a regular basis they will begin to clunk, make all sorts of noise and deteriorate very quickly. If you are trying to daily on these, goodluck. You may want to think about picking up some BC BR's. (I might have some for sale soon )

More mods more problems is a good motto to live by though. You can ask anyone on this forum who knows me, I am the "King of Clunk". I've stopped trying to hunt them all down already.

Hmmm thanks man for the input.

^^ yeah everything is tightened sufficiently. Thats y i went as far as to asking the community because everything is tightened and i havent had any problems till now.

^ yeah my subie is daily'd :/ but i havent had any problems till literally all of a sudden it just decided to clank and clunk and sounds like the strut is bouncing with the frame haha. i truly agree wit ur more mods is more problems. Maybe i should just swap back to stock and put just lowering springs and sell the rams :/

I almost went with the rams. I emailed BC about them and this is why they didn't recommend them. Keep in mind, this is for a car that is lightly driven on the street and AutoX'd at least once a month.

I asked, "Why don't you recommend the BC RAM coilovers for daily use with light track use?"

"Primarily for the fact that they require a lot more maintenance than the BR types.

The kit has to be repacked with grease on a fairly regular basis to maintain longevity and performance. It is meant for race cars with teams that on a regular basis break the car down and replace wear items between races."

Nothing is wrong with the RAMS, you just have to maintain them. That is probably where your clunk is coming from.

Straight up, I rather listen to my tires rubbing than your car clunking and knocking all the time.
