strange sound coming from wheelwell

did what research i could for a squeaking/ inconsistant squealing noise coming from front drivers side wheel, changed out my cv boots and axles and that made it less frequent but its come back. wheel bearings are still good so far so i'm stumped. any suggestions/ experiences would be appreciated

Rocks in brake pads or just plain old worn pads. Even if the outer pad looks good the inner pad may be worn.

I'm having this same problem. Changed out both front axles within the past year, just replaced my rotors last week (pads still have a lot of meat on em but the rotors were glazed and were near min. thickness). I had the car up on stands running in gear but the noise seems non-existent without load. Checked for play on the wheel bearing but it feels solid. Squeaking gets really loud when wheel is turned left/right but quiets down when steering is centered. Gonna take it into the shop this week to have it checked out. Hopefully they can figure out what the hell it is. o_O

If it sounds metal on metal check the dust shields behind the rotor. Mine got a little bent by something and was rubbing the rotor once everything heated up from driving.

Some of the possible causes:

Strut cap bearing, loose caliper, caliper slide pin sticking, rubber gromet on spring perch, front differential carrier bearing, poorly secured bumper, FMIC or CAI pipe rubbing, exhaust heatshield, lower control arm bushing, dry ball joint, performance pads that aren't being ran as hot as they were designed for, improperly installed wheel speed sensor ring, could still be the wheel bearing (just because it doesn't have play yet, doesn't mean that it isnt dry or contaminated inside).

Noises can be a pain in the bootyhole.
I'm free today if you want me to check it out.
