spring rates?

I am looking to purchace coilovers in the near future and will probably go with BC's BR series coilovers. I need some advice on what spring rates to go with, they offer 5,6,7,8,10 and 12k. I am going to autocross the car and God forbid I ever find a track, take it there too. It is my daily driver and I dont mind it stiff, but I would like to keep my teeth from rattling out. So all you suspension guru's speak up! thanks
-Mike

thanks walt, that was kinda helpful. I do with they would have discussed handling and body roll a bit more instead of just harshness but it was still usefull. another thing i cant decide is whether or not to go with the megans which are about 100 bucks cheaper and seem pretty darn similar to me.

I went with 10k fronts/8k rears with my BC coilovers. they are pretty stiff compared to a stock wrx suspension, but they are not too much stiffer than my STi suspension though. I tested them out on a few on ramps and the turn-in is dramatically different with them. you definately feel the difference in the response and control of the steering wheel. If you want I can post some pics of them on my car tommorrow also, before/after pics.

BTW If you're looking for a great deal on them PM acuteperformance(Michael) he gave me an excellent deal on them and ships them pretty quickly as well.

Hey man, thanks for postin. What stiffness setting do you keep yours at? and when you say stiff is it, ouch that hurts stiff or this feels nice stiff? The best offer I have found is between 975 and 1000 shipped. think that guy can beat it? is he a member of i-club or nasioc? thanks for your help man.

My goals are to be competitive in autocross and the occasional track day, but it will be my daily driver so it has to be somewhat reasonable on the street.

no prob, happy to help.

I pretty sure He WILL beat that price, Talk to him he is on i-club. here is his thread, but pm him so you can get a better price: https://www.i-club.com/forums/suspension-brakes-handling-wheels-tires-162/bc-racing-coilovers-w-camber-plates-pillow-mounts-%2A%2Aprice-reduced%2A%2A-168042/

Michael's a good vendor, he responds quickly and has some great deals so just speak with him and i'm sure he will beat the prices you have been getting.

for the stiffness, they are not at all ouch that hurts stiff, more like firm and reliable stiff. you feel confident taking a turn with them. I keep my at a pretty stiff setting (12 clicks back from the hardest setting) and I still am able to daily drive it fine. my friends actually tried to push my fender down to feel the stiffness and they actually werent able to push the car down..haha. I have driven a STi with tein flex's on and I actually prefer these over them.
