+1!!!! I bought my Townhouse in Waikele when I just turned 25. I've been paying my mortgage without the help of my parental figures ever since. Not to mention paying/caring for my 12 y/o son on top of that. He's an 8th grader at Mic Pac, and tuition is 16k a year. I've been working 2 jobs almost my whole working life. My parents are FIRM believers in responsibility and taking care of yourself, so since high school, anything I wanted, I paid for. Tough love, but I agree with the way it works, and my son gets the same treatment. Whew, I'd hate to see the kind of ridiculous stuff I'd be spending my money on if I still lived at home. Almost 10 years of mortagage payments = lots of toys for me.

My kids are spoiled. My son has almost every electronic gadget available (i.e. XBox, Playstation, touch phone, custom engraved Ipod, laptop, internet, LCD flatscreen in his own room, etc.)

I admit...I have spoiled my kids. But isn't the goal of every parent to make their kids life easier than their own??? My parents gave me a good education that lead into a good carreer. I hope my kids get the message that good things come to those who work hard at what they do.

I agree that life is much easier for kids these days.

BTW my son is probably going to drive my race Miata to school or my STi. Just crazy. My first car in high school was a VW square back that caught on fire while I was seated in the car warming it up in the morning. Just crazy.

I remember getting this email a while back. IT's funny. It reminds me of those new lexus commercials a little bit.

Here's one for you guys. Remember when you was waiting for your parents to pick you up? You had to call from an actual payphone? And then it was a collect call to save money? "Do, you accept a collect call from.."dad pick me up!!" Hahaha... da olden days..

Or actually calling a person(operator) who's job was to text message whatever you said to a another pager?? from the old company Pager One?
That's when text messages costed 25 cents each!! And there were NO unlimited texting!!!! You younguns would have a text bill in the thousands every month.

We didn't text each other all day and nite. We actually rode our bikes and hung out all day and nite. Ok baash on you young doods and doodettes.

the thing you have to add about the cable. Is it didnt even go directly into the tv. you had a little box that sat on top of the tv. and it had numbers like an alarm clock and there was only up and down you couldnt push 25, or 34.

hell i even remember before that my parents had a cable box that you had a slide thing to slide across to what channel you wanted.

and descramblers were a huge thing so that you could get the channels you didnt pay for. and if you didnt you were tryign to watch pr0n like this
