Anyway sorry to hear about your friend and the only thing that I could think of is that you might have to update the AP firmware to the most current version. I know that it was posted a little while ago still on cobbtuning.com but just checked it out and the firmware update for the 02-03 is gone now. You should contact Cobb though.
did you make sure that the maps that were downloaded on the AP were for the 02-03 model? if you accidently used the 04 maps then that would explain the problem somewhat.
