If you are supercharging for the low end and turbocharging for the top end, why both with twin turbos? Just run one ungodly large turbo to handle the topend and let the supercharger do the rest

Twin charged cars are nothing new. HKS used to offer a turbo kit for the old supercharged MR-2s making them twin charged. Basically the supercharge gives awesome low end and then it gets bypassed when the turbo comes on line.

I saw those pics before and I really like how the turbo is oriented. I'm looking into how much it would cost for me do do a similar layout with a GT28RS (aka Disco Potato).

I can imagine it to be a plumbing nightmare. Imagine all those pipes and stuff needed. But if in the end, you end up w/a truly awesome boosted machine w/virtually no lag, then all is good. I'm just trying to imagine all the things that *could* go wrong.

wow that thing should be a beast on the streets. if you look closely i can only see plumbing to the intake manifold from the supercharger and not the turbo, maybe he has the turbo blowing air into the s/c?.

i would imagine that everything driveline oriented would have to be beefed up.
either that or keep spare driveshafts/halfshafts/trannys in your garage

i would like to see someone draw me a picture of how the airflow works in that setup.

Yes, that is exactly how you do it. You put them in series, so that when the turbo spools up the supercharger will just spin with no load on the motor. You get low end because you use a positive displacement supercharger and top end because you have a turbo making up for all the losses of said supercharger. It's really sweet, but I hear it's a tuning nightmare. I want to do it.
