So did anybody take the Superferry yet?

I heard the usual Sierra Club/Greenpeace/tree huggers were protesting. What happened with it?

Is it really gonna be $240 roundtrip (1 person and 1 car)? I thought it was gonna be a lot less.

Right now for 1 week they have $5 one way (and for cars) fares... they sold like 19,000 tickets the first day.

It really pisses me off to see all the protesters there punching people's cars. If the outer island people feel this strongly about it, ban airports too!!! I mean c'mon!! Some of the customers were soo scared they were shaking!! The ferry had to turn around and couldn't even get the cars all unloaded w/o all those people harrasing them, punching their cars etc. I'm sick of these people. It IS a good idea, and really how much of an impact does one more ship really bring? I mean it's not the EXXON VALDEZ going island to island spewwing millions of gallons of oil in the ocean. If they felt this strongly, then they would stop those ships from transporting oil into their island, and using bycycle power instead. OH that's right, they need their car, right? Well so do we. Farking hypocrites I tell ya.

Word...and that's messed up...I didn't know the protestors were taking it that far.

Isn't that like a crime or misdemeanor? What did the cops do?

And yeah...I wonder how many of those people got to the dock on bikes or on foot.
