Safety Check Question

Safety Check Question
Hi everyone! I just picked me up a '13 WRX today and the dealer attached the safety decal to my bumper. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that I could take my car in to get it peeled off and put on a bracket? I would peel it off and just take the car in for a new safety but the dealer's safety is good for 2 years on new cars. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you could:
take off the sticker
install your bracket...
go back to the dealer...tell them someone stole your sticker....
and theyll issue you a new sticker for $5
or
you could just install your bracket....use some wd40 and a dull razor blade and scrape the bugger off...
i notice a lot of the heavy vehicle DOT stickers will say void when you try to remove them...just depends on the sticker....

Yup, most of the new safety check stickers fall apart when you try and transfer them. It's kind of hit and miss though, so just need to be prepared to get a new one just in case.

all the new stickers will say Void underneath the sticker it self once you peel it off.
i think u can claim the sticker was stolen and go back to the dealership and they can reissue you another stick at cost, but am not 100% sure if its going be 2 year. only dealerships brand new cars are issued 2 years.

You have to be very careful and might want to use a plastic "razor blade" if you decide to do it yourself.
I do understand the idea of making the sticker theft-resistant, but it sure makes it a pain to transfer or remove for otherwise legitimate purposes. :P

Thanks for the advice, but I forgot to mention that I asked the dealer if they would install the sticker on a bracket if I brought one in. They said that they have to put the safety on the bumper because there is a law that prohibits placing the sticker on a license plate bracket.
It is annoying the crud out of me every time I walk behind the car, seeing the sticker on the bumper. But this is turning out to be more of a hum-bug than I thought it would be. Thanks for the suggestions.

LOL!
I guess Mr. HPD officer decided to "opt out" of the safety check. Damn good pic.
We've all seen those who choose to be above the law, but as they say.. if you can't beat em, join em..

RANT ALERT
To fill everyone in on my situation, prior to taking delivery on my 2013 WRX, I asked for Servco to not place the safety sticker on the bumper and that I would bring a bracket in for them use. I told them that I knew that the DOT amended the law and that the safety could be affixed with a bracket on the license plate. They said that they were unaware on the change so they put the sticker on my bumper.
So today I went to Servco in Mapunapuna with the pdf houdni posted with hopes they would ratify the horrendous sticker on my bumper. I ended up speaking with the service manager, who was SUPER arrogant and rude. He told me that dealers have to put the sticker on the bumper. When I tried to show him the pdf of the amendment, he said, "oh, we have all of them in our filing cabinet."
I did not go down there to make a big deal over it, but with all the attitude and the fact that they said they did know of the change even though they have them on file, it ended up being one.
In the end, he agreed to to call the inspection center tomorrow and let me know if they will able to fix it... but will only be able to give me a 1 year safety sticker. Needless to say, the customer satisfaction survey will most likely reflect the situation.
