Right now I'm leaning towards the PE1820

It does promise quite a bit of power, is bolt on (IHI, right?) and seems to be pretty inexpensive. 1475.00 shipped FREE UPGRADED WASTEGATE!!

Here is a pretty good chart

Compiled by Hotrod, stolen from Scoobytech.net
========= 526 CFM max flow for a 2.5 Liter at .85 VE pressure ratio 2.0 (14.7 PSI) 7000 RPM =======

Large 16G ------------ 550 CFM at 14.7 PSI
SR 40 ----------------- 595 CFM at 14.7 PSI
18G ------------------- 600 CFM at 14.7 PSI
PE 1820 -------------- 630 CFM at 14.7 PSI <--- estimated from max flow numbers
20G ------------------- 650 CFM at 14.7 PSI
SR 50 ---------------- 710 CFM at 14.7 PSI
GT-30 ---------------- 725 CFM at 14.7 PSI
60-1 ------------------ 725 CFM at 14.7 PSI
GT-35R --------------- 820 CFM at 14.7 PSI
T72 ------------------- 920 CFM at 14.7 PSI

========= 658 CFM max flow for a 2.5 Liter at .85 VE pressure ratio 2.5 (22 PSI) 7000 rpm =======

HKS GT3037 ------- 670 CFM at 22 PSI 460 hp
PE 1820 ------------ 680 CFM at 22 PSI <--- estimated from manufactures rated max power
20G ----------------- 695 CFM at 20.0 PSI
HKS GT3040 ------- 710 CFM at 22 PSI 490 hp
AVO 500HP -------- 770 CFM at 22 PSI
SR 50 -------------- 770 CFM at 22 PSI
GT-30 -------------- 790 CFM at 22 PSI
60-1 ---------------- 800 CFM at 22 PSI
HKS GT3240 ------ 830 CFM at 22 PSI 570 hp
GT-35R ------------ 880 CFM at 22 PSI
T72 ---------------- 1000 CFM at 22 PSI
I believe that the '526 and 658 CFM max flow' corresponds to the amount of air the engine is pushing at the stated rpms, assuming the engine has 85% volumetric efficiency (pretty much brand new), and pushing the stated psi.

The only codicil is that none of these numbers necessarily mean anything if I can't find anything out about their efficiency. I wonder how efficient the 1820 is at 22psi? I bet it gets awfully hot.

What displacement

are you buying for? What about the FP turbos? Check this thread

You looking for dragster power? Godspeed is about to release a Garret with external wastegate that will support 500whp.

I'm interested in both of those, but I sent an email to FP and they haven't replied. I don't know howlong God is going to take to put his on the street.

Whichever one I get, my preference is used.

I'm a cheap ***.

I'd still go with the SR 50, plus APS just came out with a USDM oil line for it.

Well, a couple of things that it def. has going for it is that it's a bolt on and already has a wg. Does it already have a water inlet in the center section?

I need to make up my mind in what characteristics/power output I'm looking for.

Do you think I'd be happy if I had a car pushing 370-400hp? (meaning, living with the drawbacks a 400hp car promises like lag and such)

Lag will be less of an issue with an EJ25 though. If I do the 2.5 swap I'm gonna go big.

Ryan,

How much research have you done regarding the GT28-GT30, the FP Green, the SR40 or 50, AVO 450-500, T3/T4?

Any pluses and minuses you have for some of those, I wouldn't mind if you PMd me.
