I think the best way to learn about cars is to 1) get a low paying job that's far from where you live 2) spend all of your money on making your car fast but keep it your daily driver, even though logic tells you not to 3) drive fast till it breaks and 3) learn to fix it for no money or make friends who can do it for you so you can get to work on time to repeat the cycle from number 1)

That's not sarcasm too. It's how most of us learned.

i highly recommend the AMT program at HCC. You'll learn almost everything you ever need to know to fix a car.

Step one: Build a toolbox

Step two: Do what Reid said

Step three: Factory service manual

Rinse and repeat. Too bad I didn't see this post earlier, could have used a hand swapping an up-pipe and flushing and servicing my transmission and rear dif yesterday.

Probably best to just take the classes. I mean you can wrench on your car and others at Install Days but I think you'd learn best from the classes.

hey mayne im always at the house doing something to one of my cars. you can take your pick of working on an STi, an SRT4, or an Integra. lol. I could most always use an extra set of hands to help out, and I enjoy teaching people stuff. Ill be going to UTi when I get outta the Navy, so I feel ya man. I learned by jumping ***** deep into doing the engine swap in my Integra with a buddy of mine who had never touched a Honda, only 240's. You gotta learn by doing brotha
