factory 6 inch subwoofer options

I have an 02 wrx wagon with the stock 6 disc head unit & a 6 inch OEM sub under my passenger seat that came with the car. I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to sounds and auto electronics so i was wondering if i could wire another OEM 6 inch under the drivers seat as it appears clearance wont be a problem. Also, looking at the already installed sub under the passenger side i see a clip from the unit that connects to wires that run under the center console. would i have to buy another set of those wires & splice into the already existing wires? or would this be a bad idea?

I know that some of you guys may be wondering why i dont just go to a local shop & have them install a 10inch sub with a head unit but i am building my car with a focus on spirited driving on occasion & having a box slide around with that extra weight is not my style. Im just looking for a little extra thump when i turn up the speakers for a decent price that would be relatively easy to install.

Any help and insight would be greatly appreciated!

get rid of the puny 6in. subs and get one of these for your wagon. maintains trunk space, easily removable, and wont slide around.

The OEM underseat sub will not do much for your listening enjoyment...well not enough to be worth $100-$150.

Hell even a small box with an 8-inch sub and a small amp will do more.

I run a 10-inch box that I can pull out and put behind my seat in the rear-passenger's foot area (my daughter occupies that spot in a car-seat so it is not in use).

I have my whole trunk occupied by my subs, even though they're just 10's they require a huge box and lots of power. 1000rms each.

I say make your own box. RE audio has a box dimension calculator. I personally can't justify spending 300+ on a subwoofer box if it's not a complete custom fiberglass painted or texturized to the specs of my subwoofer.
