Quick vid of the Mustang on the track (finally)
Got the Mustang out to the Super Lap yesterday for my last hurrah before leaving on deployment this week. I wasn't pushing it too hard, as I just got it running Thursday night and really haven't tuned it at all. I threw the pimpy red "race" wheels and tires on it (didn't even check pressures, have no idea where they were), ran the "stock" Baer pads (didn't have time to swap over to my Hawk Blues and bed them in properly), and was short-shifting about 5000rpm (once it's tuned right it'll pull to 6500rpm). With all that said, it ran pretty well. My brother hand-timed me in the mid-42s.

I had one sweet do-rift-o!!! around Turn 1 on my 2nd hot lap, trail braked a bit too much and got the *** to start to come around. Pedaled the gas, countersteered, countersteered some more, and then some more (hmmm, I hope I catch this....), basically took the entire corner pointed about 75deg off of where I should have been pointing.
I caught it, though, and pulled out of the slide quite smoothly if I don't say so myself. Considering it's been about 20 months since the last time I drove this car "in anger" (an auto-x in Massachusetts back in August '03) I was pleased to see some of the RWD instincts were still there.
Anyway, the video:

Enjoy!

Cool beans.
That looks a helluva lot more fun than running a Leggy. You're an 0-4, right? That thing should be completely race-ready.
They let you run without some form of a rollbar or rollcage?

It started out as a 4-pt Maximum Motorsports NHRA-legal bar, but by the time it got installed (a good 2, maybe 3 years after I bought it) my focus had shifted to corner carving so the guy who installed it added the diagonal bar. As of now the bar's just bolted in, but it'll probably get welded eventually.

Intake is a TFS 351-R, matched up with pretty heavily ported TFS Twisted Wedge heads, TFS tall valve covers, etc etc.
Tires are the Dunlop Super Sport R-compounds. I honestly can't even remember the full name of them, I think there's more to it than that.
Tire Rack had the 255/40-17s on closeout 6 or 8 months ago for $128 each, so I snapped them up.
