Quick Ratio Steering Rack Group Buy!!! THIS DEAL IS GOOD TO GO!!!
Darryl, thanks for the response. I really appreciate your feed back on your 11.5:1 rack, as it was the ratio I was considering. Can you tell me what the turns are lock to lock in comparision to the EVO's 13:1 2.1 turns lock to lock?
Jack, as of now, the deal is for Hawaii, due to shipping. However, I can certainly ask Rev-Lab if they will open it up to you, if you compensate for the different shipping. Just PM me all your information including: shipping info, full name, contact phone, and ratio requested, if you're serious about this upgrade
To all those who want this deal, the wait time from the date of order is approximately 4 weeks and must be pre-paid. Please PM me all your information (contact full name / phone#, requested steering ratio) so I can put you on a list for Rev-Lab. I will have it all shipped to my place of work to save us money on shipping. I haven't worked out all the details for payment yet. I'm not sure if we can all pay separately via Credit Card, or if all payments must be consolidated. If this is the case, I can pay for all of them, if you front me your portion of the cash.
WRXlova, what this does is decrease the # of turns of your steering, hence quickening your steering. This is currently the major dissadvantage the STI's have against the EVO's. If you have any other questions, please post.

what exactly does it do?

The quick rack is more closely tied to the driver's input. It makes placing the car accurately an easier driving task. Think of some other cars with quick steering like the EVO VIII, or the Mini-Cooper, or the Lotus Elise. All known for their more direct and quick ratio steering. If you'll just drive an EVO you'll be impressed by it's steering. I was and that's a 13:1 rack, a blast in the twisty stuff.
No, it's not heavy steering effort. In fact I wish the power steering pump was a bit overcome by the quicker steering but it is not. The rack bushings help with feel
through the steering wheel. So steering effort is not too much higher than stock, and makes for easy cruising with one elbow propped on the door sill. The only downside to this rack is when you make a signaled turn, and if the turn is not great enough your turn signal will still be on once you straighten from the turn. No fear of turning the wheel and rocketing across three lanes of traffic. One gets used to the new steering very quickly. I felt safe in ten minutes of tooling through the city. Then I took my favorite twisty route (very busy) and found I could go a bit faster, because I was not wasting time or effort correcting my steering through the stock rack. Professional rally drivers use this rack. That's good enoug for me.
With regard to your question, I guess it's a matter of personal taste. I like to drive, and I've made changes to my car's handling, and power output to enhance my driving pleasure. This rack is the best mod I've done.

WRX151,
The 11.5:1 rack is 2 turns lock-to-lock. I recall being amused (and a bit taken by surprise) to have unexpectedly demonstrated the ratio breaks down even further to 1 turn center to lock! I was turning the car around with my old wheel-movement memory, and "bump!" I hit the lock with my arm and shoulder expecting to turn much further. I think almost any driver would like this rack. Perhaps only those with an even quicker ratio would not like it.
One big thing about this rack, is how easy it is to adapt to. It's when you realize that the rack is not so quick as you are, that you get real casual with it. Heck, I even asked Rev-Lab about a 10.5:1 rack after realizing that I can handle a faster ratio! I think most people could!! LOL! I was told that the safety of the rack would be compromised in trying to accommodate that size of rack gear in the WRX casing, pressure-wise.
Enjoy!

I think i'll be getting the 11.5:1 (if I'm going to change, I might as well go all the way). Too bad someone else is buying the rims...I would have given you the rims in exchange for partial payment! lol
