If you're a freak of nature like STINightfall, then rev to 4-5k then slip the clutch. Instant 1.8 60' and a certain 14.9.
If not, you should rev anywhere between 3k-5k and practice the feel of the clutch. My advice is don't dump it. If you can slip and/or spin the tires, that's a good thing.

Check the tranny
forums here and on NASIOC. Tread lightly. Been plenty here locally that have had tranny problems. The stock tranny is fine as long as you're not dumping the clutch at high rpms on a regular basis. SCCA or open track days are a beter option IMHO.

high 14's very low 15's should be a good start.

Don't do it! Everyone knows that the WRX is NOT a drag car! It was meant for rally & road race! Those that drag race the WRX are fools!
Hard launch..."lift" at 5k, pound that 1st to 2nd shift, try to hit rev limit in 3rd at the end. You should hit high 14's.
Try to keep it below 200 passes in 7 months...
