Question on STi stereo install?

OKay guys, when you guys install speakers on the STi, did you have to buy the speaker support for all 4 doors? from the dealer, or you guys just bolt the speaker direct to the metal of the door? also, what size did you guys use for the front and back door? anyone try installing speaker on the rear dahs instead? Thanks, I cant drive w/o music!

on joe's we used 5 1/4 front the dealer wont sell the pods alone so we cut some mdf boards for the front and the rear just bolted some 51/4's to the door metal also remember that when you put in your deck to power the antana or you wont get any reception

Most decent speakers will require some form of spacer whether it be a small OEM one, a MDF (usually your best bet) one, or the one that sometimes comes with the speakers you buy. Someone on here or Nasioc has been selling suby specific ones. It really is determined by the speakers you'll be running because that'll tell you how much depth you need to gain. I believe I've got 3/4 mdf spacers upfront for Boston Acoustic Zs (fairly large frame drivers). I'll try and find a pic.

I know some guys on the mainland have mounted spkrs on the rear dash. If you really want your rear fill to be stronger its an idea but I don't think its worth the work. Your front stage should be stronger and I know there are a bunch of guys that only run front speakers.
