Question Question about Speed Gear prices

My girlfriend went to Speed Gear the other day and got me a B&M short throw sport shifter for $275 it's seems very expensive if i'm not mistaken, unless this is a special one. My car is an 04' WRX. Should I return it and get something else and what should I get from there? I seen that I-Club gave them a plaque on the wall so hopefully you guys could give me some insight.

Thanks,

Travis

Yikes! I'm not familiar with the B & M, but you can order a kartboy short shifter lever AND bushings from their website for 120. I would say to return the one you got, buy something else from their store, and order the Kartboy. Don't get me wrong, Farid and the guys at Speedgear are cool, but some of their products are grossly overpriced. Not their fault actually, because any local shop can't compete with internet pricing. The nature of the business...

not to contradict you, but are you sure on what you paid for just the shifter?

(side note: B&M's Are more expensive than most short shifters on the market.)

Yep it's just a shifter some bushings and some lube in the box not even a shift ****. The girl that helped my girlfriend said that all other shifters were generic compared to the B&M shifter so she bought it even though it was $275. I notice that you must work at speed gear maybe you could assist me in my situation. Again thanks for your help.

BTW the part number is: 45150. On the internet I've seen it as low as $122 for the same part. Can someone please explain why it's so expensive. It makes me sick thinking about it right now if their price can't be justified because that is just way too much mark up. If someone knows a manager or owner or something maybe they could hook me up. Thanks again.
