Hey guys... i got a question about shipping

I'm going to be buying a subwoofer from a dude in Hawaii (96813 to be excact) and I live in California.. I asked him to calculate shipping costs and for a ~30 pound package it will be about $30 to ship doing "parcel post"... but he also said that it was going to take about a month before it gets to my house???? wtf?

Is this true? What do you guys think?

Usually a dollar a pound is fair. I've mailed out alot of stuff parcel post, heaviest I can recall was 15 lbs and it took about 10 days. Hope this helps.

and btw Bran, i got the package today, and - THANKS. it's dead. you should have packed it with some food. now my apt smells like a dead skunk.

^^ shouldn't take a month. at worst 2 weeks. everything comes here by plane. USPS just tends to be a lil more carefree with your package. my brother and i have ordered a total of 3 subwoofers at different times throughout the year from www.elementaldesigns.com . at most it took a week(from them). they ship priority. CA to HI... HI to CA.. its all the same with USPS

I just shipped 5 large boxes Sunnyvale -> Hilo via UPS 2nd day (was cheaper than surface) and they took about a week.

 

my corrections... parcel post will take 4-6 weeks. priority will take 3-5 days(add a day for time difference) parcel= on boat, priority= on plane
my apology for the misunderstanding.
pay the extra $$ it may be like near double of parcel... up to you

damn... 4-6 weeks, that sucks. I'm getting a custom box built for the sub so that will take some time too, its all good thanks all <3
