The forces that cause the "clusters" of gas molecules they're talking about are intermolecular forces between non-polar molecules, namely dispersion forces (this is all gen. chemistry). I still dont see how a magnetic field can have any effect on non-polar (no positively or negatively charged ends) hydrocarbon molecules? None of the links manage to explain this. Does anyone have any ideas?

check the JC whitney catalog for a cheaper version (hey, i used to look thru JC whitney for jeep parts)...
i'll get even better mileage when i disassemble my 12" woofer and attach the magnet to the gas tank...
