Why would I not have gotten tuned for 93 if it's readily available around here? I've never lived anywhere that did not offer 93 at the pump. I don't get how your comment contributes at all to what was asked.

Other costs of living here: No track (we have AutoX!), or open backroads really. Can't let that STi with that big turbo stretch her legs, legally.

to answer your statement, you don't have to. you don't have to get or like what anyone says, you only have to understand that on an open forum people can say what they want. just take everything with a grain of salt and you'll do fine, otherwise i hope you pack a flame suit in your suitcase

to answer your question because you are military and should have had the foresight to know you would not be there forever. 91 is the lowest premium you're gonna see anywhere and hence it makes the most sense to tune for that over 92/93/100/ect.

And sure this is an open forum and you all are welcome to say whatever you want. I could care less, as it is your opinion. But what was said still has no bearing on what I was asking about. If you want to start a thread about convincing everyone to tune for 91 vice 93, then do that. This is not the place for that.

What's with you all about this tuning for 91. Sure its the most common premium fuel. But it's what's been readily available around me for the past 7 years, and what my tuner preffered. Why must you all focus on that one aspect? I was just commenting on how it's going to suck to have to pay for a retune.
As with the other stuff perhaps it doesn't pertain to your original question but you brought it up the whole issue of a retune so it seems like fair game. Anyway all you need to know you can find in the sticky thread you skimmed but you wanted the "warm and fuzzy"
So just relax and remember, it's the price you pay to live in paradise....or to not read the stickys that are there for the explicit reason of not having to explain the same thing over and over. aloha

Either way, hope you enjoy it here. Beaches, weather, cool, laid-back people, food, and sausage-fest Subie meats will make it less harsh.

you will be ok to run 92 on your 93 tune. i was running e85 then got tunes for pump gas beofore coming here. it will only take a little bit for your car to figure out the diffrence. it really is all good. Aloha.

Well first of all because you asked....

Anyways, OP brought it up as the big point in his posts or at least that's what I read it as. Shouldn't be anything worse than a tune or your tuner taking your map and adjusting for 92...hopefully they can do that without having your car there but I'm not sure.

except for things like elevation, humidity, temperature, ect. daily driving won't be a problem depending on how "safe" your tune is but beating on a car tuned for diff gas in a diff place can be dangerous. it's been proven that tunes from the mainland don't always work that well here.
