Pat (or anyone interested),

there was a post saying the u-brace weighed 24 lbs. I think that's spot on. Additional hardware, bolts and the plastic middle underthing, were 3 pounds. So about 27 pounds total. I wouldn't do it unless you replace the u-brace with the Cusco Ver 2 lower arm, Do-Luck, or equivalent. I noticed absolutely no difference in stiffness/handling. The u-brace is very flimsy and bends easily. My car now weighs 3023. Should be under 3000 next month.

No,

I took it out and don't need to replace it because I already have the Cusco Ver 2 lower arm bar. The brace really doesn't do anything but provide a place to bolt the plastic under piece to and help with crash protection. I used the ALK spacers for the Cusco bar as it is designed to bolt onto the u-brace. My car is on a diet. 33 lbs down, a bunch to go.

Well,

battery, coilovers, and catback for sure. Possibly lighter bumper beams (cut some out), lightweight bolts where practical, and anything I can think of short of my audio system. The audio system isn't that heavy when the subwoofer box is removed. I won't be removing the air conditioning, and doubt I'll scrape the sound deadening material. I can take 10 pounds off your car that you'll never miss.

Would those ten pounds be anything like the spare tire, jack and tools? What else is in there that i wouldn't miss?

None of that.

It will take less than an hour.

OK,

under the center console, there's a piece of metal that weighs nearly 5 pounds. Supposedly it's there if the driveshaft ever breaks, but I hardly think that would stop it. It's easy to remove. Inside the glove compartment is a piece of metal that weighs two pounds. Take out the glove compartment, take it apart, and ditch the metal. Next, get rid of your floor mats. I have plastic over my carpet, so the mats are useless to me. There's also a piece of metal under the steering wheel behind one of the plastic pieces. I haven't taken it out until I take a look at it. I have a couple more that I want to try before I tell.

San takes

absolutely no responsibility for damage or injury to you or anyone dumb enough to ride with you. These modifications are only for off-road vehicles.

I remember seeing a video somewhere of this dude who replaced most of the nuts and bolts on his car with those made out of titanium and aluminum. It think it was a Soarer (Japan market lexus SC). That is extreme weight reduction.

Exactly

what I did with my race mountain bike. Mostly titanium bolts and **** weight savings wherever I could manage.
