FIRST CAR DONE..
Hi guys,
I don't seek to destroy the Bay Area private businesses of Car detailing, I merely wish to provide people another option to go to. A friend I are thinking of starting a small private business of detailing cars. I have been detailing my car for a few years now and I believe that I could have something to offer. I have been part of nasioc.com and i-club.com for about 3 years now, and have a good group of people to work with.
I would like to take a rough estimate of how many people in the South Bay area... (San Jose, Cupertino, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Palo Alto) that would be interested before we start setting up.
The car to be detailed would include the following:
Standard Package:
Interior clean up
Leather Cleaning/UV Protectant
Vacuum
Dawn Wash to strip old wax (twice)
Shampoo with P21S Bodywork Shampoo
Sonus SwirlBuster Polish, applied with Porter Cable 7424 Buffer (swirl remover pad)
P21S Carnauba Wax (by hand)
Windows cleaned
- $90 OTD
(Will work on special deal if owner would like more than one car detailed)
Extra Options:
Engine Clean Up with P21S Total Auto Wash - $10
Leather Cleaning/UV Protectant - $10
Clay Magic Perfect kit -$15
RainX Rain repellent for windows - $5
Vehicle Pick-up within a 10 mile radius - $5
Complete Package (including Extras excluding Vehicle Pick-up): $115
Normal private car detailers around this area charge $100-150.
READY TO START WORK
Schedule: M and F: after 5:30pm
Schedule: T-Thurs: After 5:00pm
Sat-Sun: Please e-mail or pm (pm for phone number)
Thank you for your time,
Cheers!

the price is still not set, since i've got to decide on what products to use and project how many cars i could actually get, thats why i made this tread.. to get an estimate of how many people would be up for it. but im guessing a lot!
alright well.. im pretty set on having good stuff..
most likely will consist of dawn, sonus shampoo, porter buffers, klasse polish, klasse high gloss, all microfiber of course, and also necessary applicators.

I'd be interested in detailing two cars if there were a detailer in the North Bay. Since there isn't...I guess I'm gonna have to get out a bucket, some materials, and spending the day doing it myself.

A good detailers secret for the rims, get a good 1 to 1-1/2 inch paintbrush to clean them with. I know it sounds crazy, but I used it for about 3 years and they are very good at getting into those little nooks and crannys.
Also, be careful with the dawn wash because it can hurt the paint job if done incorrectly. Just make sure you keep it really wet.
Good luck on the business
