It was not on big Willow, it was on the Streets of Willow. See here - http://www.willowspringsraceway.com/...n/StreetLg.htm . They were coming out of the skidpad in the lower right and down the front straight, across start/finish heading towards the kink in the straight. If you look in the middle of the diagram where it says...

1000ft Straightaway
Elevation 2425ft

... the wide V thing right beneath "elevation" is the wall they hit.

I have video from running there back in 2002 during the Open Track Challenge - http://www.submariner.org/thepno95/V...f%20Willow.WMV (4.4MB). The video starts as I exit the skidpad having just shifted to 3rd (the skidpad was a 2nd gear corner for me). About 5sec into the video you can see the wall on the right side.
