Talking Oil Change Survey:

I just got done cleaning up the garage and this question poped into my head. So I thought I'd try and see how many suby owners use this? Which is more preferable to use when removing the Oil bolt to do an Oil Change?

A. Impact Gun/ Impact rachet, For those who had their Oil change serviced at a dealership and the mechanics seem to really tighten the oil bolt.

OR....

B.Regular ratchet and 17mm socket and a little elbow grease to loosen the Oil bolt.

For me, I didnt even start to do my Oil change because I gots to beat the afternoon traffic in town today but cleaned and relubed my Impact gun and might need to use it.But I'm a little iffy about using it. Always been using a Regular ratchet and 17mm socket...

I've always used a regular ratchet whenever I can, partly because I don't have air tools. If anything, sometimes using air tools is overkill. I like to push up on the drain plug while unscrewing it to hold the oil in. Then I pull it away quickly to keep things clean.

Get a Fumoto oil drain valve and you'll never have to remove the oil drain plug again. Less than 30 minutes and a very nice mod.

That's a retarded statement. You think someone can't unscrew your drain plug? Either way you'd most likely see the oil. Fumoto rules. No more crush washers, no more trying to find your drain plug in the used oil, and quality is top-notch. Sears? Seriously, who goes there for auto needs?

For the "oil draining thieves" or "Sears" statement? If someone were intent on draining your oil, do you think they'd assume you had a drain valve? Would an oil drain plug stop them? I've never heard of anyone having their oil drained as a prank or out of spite. As for the Sears comment, I go to Sears for tools, and nothing else. I have no problem with anyone that trusts Sears to service their cars, it's just not something I'd ever do. Aloha!

Fumoto rules. No leaking, easy oil changes, no more crush washers. Plus it's actually not as easy as you'd think to open the valve - it requires two different movements to open it (push in and turn the ****), and in order to get to it, you have to first remove the plastic splash guard (or skid plate depending on your setup).

I always use a combination wrench to do my oil changes. My next oil change I may pickup that Fumoto valve, sounds like a good mod.

Never go back to ordinary plugs. Unless you have "oil thieves".

Which one do you guys have, one with or without the nipple? What is the nipple for? Is it just so you can connect a hose to drain the oil?

I love nipples (female you pervs), especially big fat asian ones. As far as I know, my Fumoto valve is "nippleless". Hmmm, maybe I made a mistake.
