OEM parts from mainland
Just curious as dont know if local dealers markup prices too much on oem prices,..
But does anyone know or have ordered any oem parts from a mainland dealer. I know when I needed to order Mitsubishi parts such as pistons, complete gasket set etc, the local dealer marked up prices 50%,..I ordered from the mainland and just paid for shipping,...Much cheaper that way,..
Anyone got any leads??
Also, gotta pick up some oil filters, antifreeze and what else,.now that Subaru by Kakaako is closed where should I go near townside?
thanks
Kevin

^^^NO!! do not go to P****er! they are horrible at marking up their prices. they tried to charge me $30+ for a 2" hose for my 91 turbo legacy! I had a long talk with Kenny Ching the lead manager for P****er and he told my that he would "look into it" and i never heard from him again. my advice would be to order online like jon said, but you can see what they will charge first. i just hate them and will never get anything from them....EVER!!!!

actually George from Pflueger has been in the parts department since schuman carriage. He's a very cool guy. Most cases he can hook you up.
However since Pflueger now pays the bills for him there is a limit to what he can and cannot do.
I did normally go through him unfortunately since SOH and SOA is completely different and the amount of time that it took my clutch assembly to get here was over 1 month and I still never received it. This was NOT georges fault but rather SOH fault since they don't use SOA as a source of parts.
When I went through subaruparts.com they told me when I would be expecting the box...etc. They got my item to me in less than 7 days.

Where can I get parts for NOT the $29 in shipping Subaruparts.com wants? Geez, that's more than the parts themselves,..
BTW,..can I get Subaru parts from THE schuman in town,..thought they closed down???

had good luck with subarugenuineparts.com
Jamie Thomas (Subiegal on Nabisssco) runs the subaru parts internet division and got me better prices than subaruparts.com and shipped me usps priority mail for cheap. Usually gets here in 3-5 biz days from Washington.

AHH!! First thing,..the guy at the parts counter is super cool,..2ndly saw a guy named George,..bug guy,..but I dont know him personally and didnt want to single him out to get me a discount,..
So I got my uppipe gasket for $7, crush washers, 3 coolant additives for $1.70 each and they wanted $13 for an oil filter,...Had to ask if that was the best he could do for me,..and he gave it to me for $9 a filter,..OUCH!! 100% markup and why I prefer the mainland, but too slow to find a dealer that can provide me assistance.
Anyways,..got what I wanted at a price,..
Anyone got some references for future needs? Weblink or phone numbers/names would be helpful,...
thanks
