A New Freind
I think I got all you beat. I was 17 in 1974, I had a 1964 Plymouth Valiant with a push button auto trans, this was the last year you could push start an auto trans(no neutral safety switch). It took half of my worldly savings to purchase the car for $75. Gee, I feel old. odzilla.

Congratulations on the STi and welcome to i-club. Hmmm, at 17 I had no car, but had use of my dad's '72 Nova that was painted with left-over paint used by the city & county to paint the yellow lines on the road. Even the wheels was painted yellow (sheesh). It really set off the chrome hub caps. Needless to say, I did not use that car to go to the prom. Used my cousin's '80 Mitsubishi Sapporo (Dodge Challenger) instead.
I'm with ya WRX_FLIP. I drove my moms brown 82 Honda Accord Sedan with a roof rack. I used it in college then she gave it to me my sophmore yr in college. Then I put a Sony stereo and fog lights on it...it rocked. My girlfriend (now wife) named it Phenominal. Haha...those days. Since then, went through 7 more cars...on my 8th-9th...I lost track.

wow, when I was 17, i drove an 84 Mercedes-Benz 300D nonturbo. It was a GDM car imported by some airforce guy. It had a 4MT and too many of its parts had to be ordered from germany b/c nobody in the US had parts for it, ha ha. Sold the thing b/c it cost too much to maintain.
hummmm at 17 i had my 81 corolla hatch with centerlines and a hella system worth about 10 times more than the car people used to laugh at my when i parked and armed my alarm
