nice...but i still like my sun roof. it gives a sporty look to the car when opened. i plan on getting a JDM aluminum hood soon that will shed some serious weight off the front end of the GC. I think i prefer that option over CF because of the fading and cracking CF brings to the table.

Wow... makes me wish I still had my GC8.
Looks real good.
The BMW E46 M3 CSL, E92 M3, and E63 M6 all come with OEM stock carbon fiber roofs.
They seem to not fade over time... then again, it hasn't been a huge amount of time yet since any of those cars came out.
I've been researching doing a conversion on my M3 with the M3 CSL roof and the only thing I need is an added overhead crossbow (an OEM part) for roll-over protection from changing from a sunroof car.
If you already had a M3 without a sunroof, you'd already have that crossbow in place.
Is there a crossbow type thing that non-sunroof GC8s need over a GC8 with a sunroof?
Other than that... it's the same thing... drill out the rivets and glue it on. (They say that's how the OEM M3 CSL roof is done too)
Weird though... how that guy says it takes about 6 hrs or so to do.
Everyone that's done it on M3forum says it takes around 20-25 labor hours on the M3. I wonder what actually is different about it...
The M3 CSL never made it to the states so it didn't have a chance to pass DOT safety tests either..
But then again... the E63 M6 and the E92 M3 are selling in the USA and they passed safety tests... so I guess it's safe.
Not to mention... that GC8 roof looks like a sweet deal... OEM CSL roof goes around for $2600 and very difficult to get OEM CSL parts.

Car Info: your mom.
just a warning (hi guys) - the light weight aluminum hood was an awesome weight reducer in the time before carbon fiber, but it was incredibly...sensitive. I've met GC owners on mainland who had the hood, whom had evidence of damage from hail and road debris. When I get another GC I'll probably get cf and just paint it, since the oem hood is heavy as hell
