I have a Defi gauge pod that I need to paint. I'm not sure what color to paint it so I'm up for suggestions. My car is crystal gray, and I considered the following:

1. match dash color
2. match seats (05 STi)
3. match car exterior (this will be pretty tough)

Also, can anyone recommend a good paint?

 

I would try to match the dash.

Now this pod is going where the clock is correct?

I know, when I painted my Autometer Bezel Pod I used some Texture paint, got it from Pep Boys, and it had a nice wrinkle type texture like most interiors, looks pretty good. Didnt look for Grey though, just used black.

 

Go with that...I've seen some with matched paint to the body and they looked hella out of place unless you're gonna do other parts of the interior to match.

 

outlaw23 had his pod painted to the body color (psm) on his sti. p.m. him if ur interested to see it.

 

Like 808subaru stated, i painted my pod the same color as my exterior and no it does not look out of place. Then again blending in and not standing out is not my style anyway. Color matching the dach is plain boring. Come to the tracks friday night if you want to take a look.

 

I have seen your setup, and all I can say is it looks SICK! VERY NICE!
