Motor oil Weight?????

What weight motor oil do you use and why? Subaru recomends 5w30 but not sure which one I should put in.

^^^Agreed with that thread...I used 10w30 last time because the place I buy my Quaker State Q Advanced whatevers oil was out of 5w30 at the time.

In all practicality I'd stick with manufacturer specifications but 10w30 shouldn't hurt to be used.

10w30 actually protects better because it is thicker during start-up but actually afetr it warms up I believe the thickness(viscosity) is the same as 5w30; both 30 weight.

stay close to the factory-recommended grade. Your Subaru is well engineered and its engine components' tolerance are quite close. 5w-30 is ideal, 10w- 30 won't hurt either.
