motor belts all hash

well jus filled up my gas then went for a drive, then the weirdest thing happened. all of a sudden my steering wheel starts stiffening up. i thought i had a flat tire but then i see codes goin off. my brake, battery, and diff light went on. so i stop on the side of the road and checked all 4 tires but everything all right. so i open up my hood and i see one of my motor belts on top of my motor. i looked and it was the belt that ran through my altinator and i guess my power steering which cause my steering to become stiff while driving. i took the shredded belt out but the other belt was in place. ( i drive an 05 stii fyi). i checked if the car could start and run so i could take my car home which was a mile away from where i was. so i did that. so im looking to change all the belts.

so my questions are:

by driving my car without one of its belt will it messed up any other function of the car?
does anyone know a good place to get new belts for good prices, lmk the prices?

Haha! For belts? Can't be that bad! I've never had a problem with buying belts or any other parts from Checker's. I just make sure to stay away from the "Fast & Furious" section.

as long as the belts are name brand stuff. i had a lot of bad experiences w/ checker quality rebuild stuff. i had a power steering pump fail the next day after it was installed, i had an alternator fail in a week, then the replacement alternator failed the next week haha. what i hate about buying their parts that has a core is that they won't give you cash for the core if you get a full refund. and employees are rather . no offense but most of them are auto tech school dropouts

I know that a majority of the peeps that work at auto parts stores don't really know everything about all the cars that they're selling the parts for. In fact, I've ran into a few that seemed like they didn't know squat about what they were doing. Most peeps can't afford OEM parts from the dealer so they're left to deal with the other, not so reliable options. As for me, I just order the minor replacement parts from them.
