Many Hawaii drivers flunk online test

I don't find the following article surprising at all!

http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/ap...NTPAGECAROUSEL

One of the problems, IMHO, are some of the senior citizens on the roads. I think they ought to mandate road tests for drivers, say over 75 or so. Some states have mandated this for years.

Back when you could get a license as young as 15 yrs of age (like me!) I figure that was a big part of the problem too. Not all kids that age took driver's ed back then. My parents forced me to if I wanted to get my license at 15. Now I think it's required for all teens & the minimum age has gone up.

Then again, some drivers are just retarded & have a complete and utter disregard for any traffic laws... thereby placing other motorists & pedestrians at harms way.

Anyway... who's Suby made the front page in this picture below?

How about the van cams and the traffic light cams? I'm not saying people here are worse than the mainland, but damn. A 4 way stop or if a traffic light goes flashing, people forget how to drive. It's not that hard, just stop, and look at the other cars in intersection. Those who got there before you get TO GO before you. I think because on the mainland, you have snowstorms where the traffic lights regularly go out, so they are used to 4 way stops. I say we take a mandatory road test for all drivers, those who fail, well sorry bruddah. Hope you get 'some good slippahs or 2 dallahs fo catch bus. Ahhahaha. Get those 22% morons off the road, and LOWER my insurance rates already! Peace out.

Hell man...I'll say it for you...Hawaii drivers are some of the worst I've ever driven around.

There's so many reasons I can't list them all but suffice it to say that HI drivers would get run over up in the mainland.

Not to say that drivers up here are great or anything.

So far, of all the places I've lived or driven in, Portland, OR drivers are the best. They get up to speed correctly on on-ramps and don't upset traffic flow. They use right of way correctly (not doing the stupid "Aloha Spirit" thing letting one person take a left when 15 cars are waiting to go straight.).

Anyways, no matter what until things change, European drivers are way better than the ones here in the States.

God that irritates me the most. I can't believe how many people try and merge while still doing 35-40 mph.

I'm gonna agree with everyone who says Hawaii drivers are the worst, but I still love you guys
Seriously though, it really ticks me off when there are no cars behind me and I am on the tailend of some tight, but flowing traffic and some a hole comes flying up behind me and cuts me off!..Like you're actually gonna get anywhere any faster!!! > And when the traffic starts to spread out I blast by you to catch the next car far down the highway (who thank GOD is doing like 45-50mph)and I slow down and drive right next to them so you're blcoked in don't think that tailgating me and putting on your high beams (especially when its still light outside) is gonna make me move! If you guys can't tell yet this really happened It was last weekend. By the way this was on the H-3 toward town. I finally moved because other cars were piling uo behind this guy and I didn't want them to suffer for him being dumb. He eventually passed me when I was exiting and he and all his passengers gave me the "wtf?" look. and I was yeah no $hit wtf? Look at yourself fool! He was driving a black Toyota mini suv type thingy license plate PJ1 191. The 3rd character might be wrong, but if you see this guy watch out. Sorry for the venting, but the past week I have almost been killed like once or twice a day by retards like the yellow dump truck who was 3 feet in my lane on K-Bay drive and I had to run off the road into someones yard to avoid being hit. This was 10 feet before a guardrail which would have prevented me from moving over and caused a head on collision, plus he was doing double the speed limit!

^ Yeah, I hear ya. Just be safe out there. Sometimes I spray cars that tail me with my windshield washer fluid... but you never know when you'll infuriate some psychopath.

I can't stand when guys driving big rigs drive like >10+ over the speed limit & make frequent lane changes. You're not in your Tahoe buddy, drive more responsibly!

Yesterday as I was driving out to a Father's Day dinner there was a larger SUV (Tahoe maybe).... driving like there was no tomorrow... weaving in & out of traffic & nearly rear ending several cars as he attempted to make lane changes. The last time I saw someone driving that erratically the car almost sideswiped me... then I saw/heard a helicopter flying overhead. Turns out the car was just stolen & he knew he was being followed by aerial pursuit. He ended up broadsiding another motorist in town & was later found hiding under a vehicle in a parking garage. I was relieved that he was apprehended... but I'm sure he's back out on the roads by now.
