In my opinion buy quality oil and avoid additives. If you need additives, you bought the wrong oil. Just my opinion. I use Redline religiously.

Lucas Oil is a multi-million dollar company thats been around for many years. Their gear box demonstration works, bobtheoilguy's doesnt, so we cant rely on that alone. I rely on person experience using the product during every oil change and have never had one complaint. If you go to bobtheoilguy.com's website you can see he needs donations to keep his site up and running. So I'll leave the rest up to you guys its your choice.

My personal experience with Redline has been good. As far as Lucas Oil being a multi-million dollar company, that means nothing to me. There are plenty of big companies I wouldn't do business with. Ignorance is bliss. No flame intended, just my opinion.

hey ol' buddy! how are you now?? unfortunately- what works for his hemi may not benefit your engine, or may even cause future problem. Remember, the "heart" of that powerhouse of yours is that turbo. Petroleum-based oil will coke up in there as it is one of the hottest part of your engine. Even just an additive like Lucas may cause residue build up in the oil feed line and in the turbo oil gallies. ( I have seen it too many times ) Stay with the synthetic oil San, Oh yeah- not to mention the residue build-up in your ring lands that may develop because of the thicker viscosity. we want the oil to flow right through those areas- The turbo engine operates a lot hotter than a normal-aspirated engines. Any stagnant oil on hot areas will turn into a hard film. Additives may also directly affect the oxydation stability of the synthetic oil. That synthetic oil is one of the best engineered part of your engine.

I rest my case. The jury is unanimous. If sub-sonic agrees, it's a done deal. Just like on NASIOC you have to sort the "wheat from the chaff". N00bs, Specialists, and Gurus don't mean much to me because of their post count. I've learned who to listen to and who to ignore. I don't post as much as others, and if you base advice on who posts more, that's up to you. One post from sub-sonic, chibby, Patrick, or any other person I know that can actually turn a wrench (hopefully better than I) and has real-word experience has more influence in my opinion.

guys, i saw this program in History Channel called Lube Job. It was very informative- the subject was about how synthetic oil came about in automotive applications. Its the only oil that can withstand the unforgiving environment of the jet engines. One of the Airforce pilot tried it in his car and was astonished by its result. So he found a way of marketing it. Amsoil is now one of the biggest synthetic oil supplier for both commercial and automotive applications. - food for thought- hehe..

if it is good enuf for the raptors, its good enuf for my ReX!!
