Whatever you do, I do NOT recommend getting tazed. I had to endure the 5 second shot to be qualified with the tazer gun at work. It was the longest 5 seconds of my life. 50,000 volts is not fun. I have newfound respect for HECO employees and electricians in general.

That sucks and OC spray sucks bad also......I don't understand why they have to "shoot" us with this stuff to be qualified. They don't shoot us at the pistol range.....? Feeling what it's like to get shot isn't "part of getting qualified.

i remember an altercation @ the shack several years back. 4 police officers spraying mace into some dudes face. the guy just stood there and finally afetr about 30 seconds decided to sit down....

i can imagine to tazer... he would have been down in half a second.

Oops, sorry. I guess I misunderstood the question. If I had the option of either being tased or shot with O.C. again, I would definetly pick the O.C. If I had to use either to subdue and arrest someone, hands down the taser wins. We've had to use it on over 20+ occasions already and it's worked every single time. The voltage (50,000) is so high that the muscles in the human body just contract and shut down. It doesn't matter how big/tough you are or what type of substances (alcohol/drugs etc.) you have in your system at the time. It'll have you crying for your mama in 5 seconds, guaranteed.
