let me be the first to congradulate chris tonite at HRP!!!!!!!!
New PB of 113.9mph trap tonight, but I just don't have any traction.
Any suggestions on tires where I'll have enough grip, but not so much where I'll shred my trans?
Thanks again everyone and also, I wouldn't have been able to boost to where I'm at now if mauigrown hadn't sold me his biltz sbc-id for dirt cheap and if infek hadn't helped me with my boost problems. Thanks, you two!

falken azenis are street legal slicks chris, or you could go with slicks? hey! did you sell your stock rims yet? maybe you can just buy slicks for those rims and just swap them out everytime you go to the tracks?
Azenis' aren't slicks ......... ? Plus they are heavy, But Wes and Richard used them for a while if I'm not mistaken.
What rims/tires are you using now Chris? Going with a wider street tire could help.
But I would just keep practicing on launching and how to minimize wheel spin so you're not putting more absuse on the trans with 'gripier' tires.
I hope to see the car before I leave, I am only going to be here 1 more week!! :-\

we determined that azenis are too sticky, and needed to be pumped up to 50 psi to get them to slip. after 50 psi, 12 second slip
For a VF turbo anyways
I use kumho supra 712's at 32-34 psi and that gave me the best results. enough slip to save my trans, but grippy enough so im not all over the place and put down a 12 sec, pass. Most likely not grippy enough for you though.
Sounds like tractions problems, but I'd be scared to put something on real sticky, maybe let out lots of air heheheh.
anyways good luck Chris, now it's your turn to test and tune and pave the way for future suby modders.
