You been servicing some people? What kind of services have you been offering...the happy kind?

Yeah that's what I was meaning...most people want a "status" car and have no interest in a Subaru regardless of how good it is.

my opinion is it was overpriced at the start (back in 04/05) which caused it to NOT be a popular vehicle to consumers. . . .especially the young ones. Most families would compare the LGT to an Accord/Camry/Altima and said they could get more for their money by not buying the LGT. thats just a fact.

It takes a unique individual (one who doesn't want an STI) to look at the LGT in a different way to appreciate what the LGT offers.

It's all in the demographics. Camry and Accords are very popular because the age demographic of these drivers still have the thinking that they are superior cars and power is of no concern for them even though the Accord EX V6 has more power than the 3.0R. Since there is no offering of Camry and Accords in AWD and in Hawaii we do not have any snow, it plays a big part on how popular the Legacy is in the mainland.

I test drove the Leggy back in September and I thought the car was fabulous. Between driving a 05 Legacy and comparing it with the 08 3.0R, the ride felt much smoother. The SI-Drive is nice but not something I personally would have messed with much and the paddle shifters is just something I would use to pass. One big thing that totally turned me off was the interior. Buttons seem like they were a bit rushed when it came to design and the interior stereo/navigation did not integrate too well while driving.

For me, it was down to the wire between a TL-S, IS350, and the MB W204. All three cars offered things I was looking for but the W204 had much bigger cabin space, one of the best stock stereos I've ever experienced in their Harmon Kardon Logic, and much better highway acceleration than the IS350 and the TL-S. The highway acceleration on this car is absolutely ridiculous for something that only has 270hp. You could hit 100 within seconds from 55 and still stay at 2k rpm. I was very wary about the MB being a whole luxury brand and all that but I've haven't regret it, except for one thing. The Evo X MR.

If I was to choose again, it would probably be the EVO X MR.

I love my GT. I've had it since Oct 04. I used it to AutoX (took 1st in STU for the 07 season in my region in Ohio). I also used it during a few HPDEs at Mid-Ohio and Putnam Park. I have some vids up on youtube just look for Saul_Good. Now that i live in Cali i plan to hit up all the roadcourses here and continue to show the LGT is a fun car to have. I chose it cuz i wanted the performance of a suby w/o the flair of an STI to not attract attention ;P

I think in Hawaii it hasn't caught on cuz everyone just wants the STI which is a better drivers car out the box. Plus like BPang mentioned everyone wants the Status car there. There are no tracks on Oahu so having any type of performance car loses its appeal. For ex: a friend of mine there has a mint condition SMG 94 MR2 <80k miles and he wants to get an MB/BMW/etc now since he can't race his car (i don't think he likes autox much either) on an open course like we used to when there was Superlap sessions.

Anyways, in short, LGT's kickass.

If you can find one. Get an 05 non-limited 5spd LGT. On paper it's only 2lbs heavier than the STI (3300lbs vs 3298lbs). That's the model i have!

Basically it looks really heavy but it isn't.

Yeah, on average the AF moves us every 4 years. So basically it was time for me to move again. How long do you plan to stay in Ohio?

C350?
Bet you'd change you're mind if it was a C63

LGTs are awesome.

We love ours.

With the addition of sway bars the car handling becomes amazing. The extra length on the wheelbase makes it a car that is very controllable and very fun when sideways.

They have a tighter turning radius than the imprezas (even with the longer wheelbase).

The intake manifold design is superior to the wrx/sti manifold and yields some serious torque.

All that and they're beautiful
