Legacy GT

So Guys,

I'm interested in getting your thoughts on something. I've been a Scooby nut for a while now and so I think my perception might be a little skewed.

I really think the latest model Legacy GT's are the hotness. I truly considered one before buying my Audi S4 and if I hadn't been hankering for a SUV for some time probably would have bought one instead of the Foz.

The Leg GT is a real driver's car and if you throw caution to the wind it has great mod potential.

But in all honesty, it just never took off in Hawaii like expected.

Aside from the Spec-B which we are unable to get in Hawaii, what do you performance nuts think of the Leggy?

I mean, this is a nice looking car right? It should get some street cred!

I think it rocks..
Being 6 ft tall and about 230lbs, I needed the room, able to carry 5 passengers and have a trunk. I said forget it to Pfleuger who wanted $32k + for an Un-Limited auto version and sought out Carter Subaru in 2005 in Seattle,..Got mine delivered 05 Limited black/black LGT for under $27k...

Aftermarket parts are abundant, able to swap with 04 STi's some stuff and uppipe too..

After all is said, Im happy with what I ended up with as a daily driver...

Check out www.lgt.com and search my sig for my mods..

Thanks! I think it's a great car as well. Do you see a lot of other performance-minded LGT enthusiasts out there?

I absolutely love mine. Definitely grown and sexy. I knew when going to buy a new car I wanted awd and turbo. I knew I wanted a subie cause I love the boxer rumble. But I didn't wanna be like everyone else and jump into a wrx or sti. The lgt suited my need. Plus if I ever have the need to grow up by starting a family I don't need to sell it. But you already have the fxt for the family anyway. Overall its just a great car. Super sleeper to the unsuspecting victims and the pigs also.

There's a crapload of LGT's up here...most of them modded in the Suby community.

Great cars...obviously they are fast out of the box and can be made really fast.

I'd say that they are comparable in performance to a WRX but with a MUCH nicer interior, extra room and more grown up looks. If anything they are slightly slower stock to stock compared to a WRX...but it is such a small difference that it could be considered negligible.

For SOA, the Legacy is their bread and butter car (then again, the 09 Forester is really challenging for the model sales lead). I've always wondered why the Leg hasn't had similar commercial success in Hawaii.

It seems like the Japanese competitor to the euro-sedans like the A4, etc...

Would/Have any of you WRX'ers seriously considered picking up a LGT?

I hear you. When I used to service customers on the outer island regularly they often reminded me that they weren't 'city slickers' like the Honolulu folks who were always worried about 'status'.

Car Info: 2008 Legacy 3.0R 3L H-6 RIP :( Hello 09 FXT!
I for one fell in love with Legacy since the 05 came out. I'm a very picky person when it comes to choosing a car, but this car stood out. Although I haven't had the luxury to fully enjoy my LGT (R.I.P. ) I knew I still wanted another. Now that I got another leggy, I kinda miss the turbo but I like being the unique leggy on the island.
I agree with everyone about our cars. It's sleeper, and it has a lot of potential. Just tuning the leggy to stage 2 is equal if not greater horse power to the sti. Correct me if I'm wrong guys. I think it's 300+ horse power and 340+ torque.
I would love to have chris buy a LGT or Spec B. Maybe later down the line, I'm patient...

I've been telling myself the last couple of years that my next car will be a GT. Just waiting for the day to upgrade.

Jarrad tuned my LGT (w/ stock TMIC & turbo) to about 310hp at the crank & 305 lb-ft torque. I love my car & after my suspension mods I'm ready to see what I can do with it at auto-x. And to think I was contemplating buying a Speed6! The Suby safety profile played an integral part in swaying my decision.

The LGT was hard to come by in Hawaii and was about the time Subaru made the transition to Pfleuger already so prices were steep I thought at the time. We now have Servco, but the LGT is not as abundant now I think,..
