Wazzzap fellas,
I figured why not enter the 4cyl bug-in competition at HRP. There were a bunch of quick 4 cyl VWs there running 11s and a couple of hondas, I made 2 practice passes @ 12.8 and 12.7. But, when qualifying began I missed the 1st pass, I managed a measely 13.1 on the final qualifying run cause I messed up my launch big time - bogged with a 2.1xxx 60ft. Anyway, I ended up 9th qualifier, luckily for me - the #6 qualifier broke so since im the #1 alternate, I made the quick8 - I never got the car running right using 112 octane race gas, my check engine light came on and even glazed my clutch pretty bad, the car was running too rich - at one point I thought it broke actually! Luckily, it felt OK driving home after fillin up w/ 92 oct, w/ a 93oct map....Whew!!! Guess im gonna have to drive regular for a few hundred miles before thinking about launching hard for now...I'll be a spectator.
