Just Ran my FXT Tonight!

I was pretty pleased with my times. I ran a best of 14.7@93mph. I can't believe I had TRACTION problems. Especially in the left lane. I saw two nice WRXs tonight. One was white w/CF Hood and ran 13s, the other was silver w/gold wheels. Said HI to both.

Happiest moments. The reactions of people who realized they were beated by a WAGON, especially the announcer. I stayed within 1-2 carlengths of a 13 second S4. He didn't know about the XT and was pretty impressed, heh heh.

considering that most would not expect a "wagon/suv" to get that low of a time-awesome time! and traction problems?
looks like there may be a new following soon-
i met someone really young with a white xt @ pali longs a few weeks back-
maybe the xt is creepin on up!

Also gotta add, I beat my friend's G35 w/Stillen intake. That was good, heh heh, then he got me back. None of the Hondas there clocked below 15s. FWD = No traction and deaf ears. I am sorry if I get overzealous w/my post. It's just that I've never driven something as quick before at the tracks and this experiece felt so good.

I talked for a while w/the owner of the V8 S4. That ride is PIMP. He wanted to run against an STi, but none showed up tonite. Unfortunately, I don't have the numbers of anybody w/one. His best run was against me w/a 13.2@99mph. I'm sure there are many in these forums that could outrun that. He was complaining about the air here and how it's bad for good runs at the track. Supposedly, people in the mainland average times about .5 to a second faster b/c of cooler, drier air. I want to achieve the 13.8@97mph that Car and Driver pulled off.

I also hear that using gas from a military base isn't as good as the "better" stuff off base. Does it make that big a difference? Me wonders.

Yes, my FXT is bone stock. I think that w/better gas and more traction, i can pull off better times.

I may be showing up on wednesdays. They're open on wednesdays all summer long and are hardly packed. My weekends are just too busy, but i may show up when i can.

Wouldn't it be cool to line up together? 2 stock black FXT's! Shall we go with, or without racks? LOL!

Weird, I never thought I'd see a stock AWD car with traction problems. Have you tried lowering your tire pressure?

That's still a pretty good run for your 1st time out. Congrats!

BTW, rackless is definitely the way to go.

Yeah, I took my racks off. No, i didn't lower my tire pressure...I hear that you don't really get much benefits if they're street tires due to stiffer sidewalls. The center of the tire will only cave in a bit and I'll just wear out the sides. This true?

Ouch, ouch, ouch! LOL! High tire pressures are your tranny's best friend! Spin & Go! No Grip & Rip! ...or so I've heard....

hey Russ... you gotta remember that you got a 4EAT now and you'll have to do some work to it!

Don't worry... I'll teach you

sneezerboi: you really want to follow what russ is saying take it from him he knows! It is better to spin the tires rather than get full grip other wise you'll start breaking things.
