interisland airfare specials?

Hello HIIC'ers! Was looking to visit hawaii in late nov/early dec this year and i want to island-hop a bit (R/T between OGG & LIH). i remembered last year, hawaiian air was offering specials on interisland flights on Kamehameha Day. Do you think they will offer the same special this year? It was like $1 one-way if you book your tickets on Kamehameha Day or something like that. Ticket prices for any kind of traveling has been looking pretty nasty lately, I want to jump on any deal available.

Thanks in advance guys!

With the sudden lack of competition in the Hawaiian market, don't expect bargain airfare anytime soon. Two of the major carriers for this area went bankrupt this month. As far as I know, your only options are Hawaiian or Go Airlines.

Ticket prices from the mainland have more than doubled since January. Meh.

Failing economy has nothing to do with it. Aloha had old, gas guzzling planes and no outside source of revenue. Go is losing money hand over fist, but they have the Mesa operation to sustain them. Hawaiian has new, efficient planes and a large overseas operation to sustain them. Interisland seats cost Go $55, Hawaiian $52, and Aloha $50, according to Aloha's CEO. When Go comes in with the stated objective of driving Aloha out of business, and charges $19 for a seat, who do you think is going to win?

Anybody who has ever flown Go has no right whatsoever to whine about Aloha going under. Talk to your out of work friends and relatives.
