installed my CF hood
Okay after a few hours of drilling holes and swapping pieces me and my friend got the hood on the car. After we tried to close it it locks in but its super hard to push down and I'm afraid too much pressure is gonna break the hood. Anyone else with experience on CF hoods wanna help me close my hood?

you gotta losten the bolts holding it on and make sure that it is aligned correctly. try losten them a bit and close the hood. it should close easier. then carefully raise it back up and tighten the blots. GL

was the latch not working b4 the new hood? if it worked b4 then it's not the latch, something is off with the hood.

take some pics Roel...
What brand is the hood? Did you see it on the seller's car? My hood went on fairly well with the help of some I-Club members...does it buckle up anywhere on the sides?
Like Justin said...loosen the bolts...then slowly latch it...
The two main points of contact on the hood are the rubber surrounds on the hood scoop diffuser to the intercooler and the two rubber stops on the front of the vehicle...
check to see if the rubber surrounds are getting mashed onto the intercooler top...if so, you may have to remove it or trim it...
your bov may touch the hood as well...like the HKS...that could hold it up...
the rubber stops up front are adjustable in height by twisting them...maybe you need to lower those...
take your time...attention to detail is your best friend...hope all goes well.

Pics will be up shortly once my brother comes home with the camera.
Thanks for the feedback Brent and Justin!
Brand is Chargespeed the one with the vents. I checked those rubber stops and even lowered them all the way to see if it was rubbing but no that wasn't it. Checked the bov its clears fine no markings anywhere on the hood. I even removed the latch and closed the hood and it sits flush like its supposed to. So its got me in a big headache. I've been tinkering around with it for hours now.
As for the latch it was working fine before I put the cf hood. But it required me to drop it at a certain height. idk if it was from the accident I got into awhile back.

Are you using hood dampers?
I am using the EnduraTech hood dampers with mine (thought you had the TEIN dampers)...I know some have said that the dampers are not recommended with cf hoods, but mine has held up very well...I don't drop my hood though...I let it down gently, then evenly push down on the latch area...
What holds up my hood from easily closing is my CWest grill...the extra thickness up on top makes for a tight fit...the sides all line up pretty well with the fenders.

I might go and buy some hood dampeners tommorow but I don't have any right now. And I tried to push the latch area slowly but its still won't lock.
