at the Navy Exchange bulletin/for sale boards there is a 05 EVO 8 with 9k miles on it for $27,000. I think that is pretty f'ing cheap for hawaii. I feel sorry for that guy if he bought it here for anything more than 32k which is more than likely considering the markup at Hawaii Mitsubishi.

That's cheap ! everything else used is running around $28,995 to $32,995 and above as far as california . My buddy bought his 2005 evo8 on maui for $38000 new . That price is a steal !
I went into hawaii mitsubishi and the best they could give me was $35000 for the rs evo model . They weren't going to bend on evo8 price so I bought a sti instead . Wow , you got some negotiating skills !
I know a guy that is selling a near-stock '03 with 12k miles on it for $20K. Original clutch (does not slip yet). No mods were ever put on the motor (not even exhaust or boost controller), and he's got at least a year left on the warranty from what he says. I think he has an aftermarket stereo in it too. PM me if interested and I'll get you in touch with him. He wants to get a new Evo IV, so he's looking to sell.

Don't get me wrong, I love the evo. I also love watching a lambo being embarrassed by a 4 door, 4 banger, japanese car!!
