Re: speed reading. I took a course years ago and this is what they taught me to do:
1) Look at the middle of each line (sentence) and view the entire line without moving the eyes sideways. Do not read left to right but instead, read from the top down on the page.
2) Skip all of the little words such as the, at, a, etc.
It helped me a lot in school using this technique.

Did you guy know that they teach kids to spell a word the way it sound in school now. I forgot what they call it, but that is just stupid.
Example: If you wanted to spell the word school, they could spell it skool and it wouldn't be marked wrong. Imagine a whole generation that can't spell. I can't hardly spell and I learned the traditional way...hehe....So WRONG!
