Looks like 2003 is the "Year of the import Sports car"
New STi
Evo VIII
RX-8
I'd love to see a C/D or R/T shootout between these three. Hell, throw a new Mustang in there for fun. Not an import, but I'm curious.

I heard the Mazdaspeed RX8 is gonna be fully NA. 241hp@8500rpm and 160lb ft of torque...but thats out of a 0.67L rotary! Can't wait until someone slaps a twin turbo on one of those suckers. Priced about at 32k also to contend with STI and Evo VIII

well...G35 coupe is one pimpin car I admit but I forgot about mentioning the 350Z...I think the G35 is in the sport luxury segment like M3 while the 350Z is more in tune with the STI's and Evo VIII's.
Competitive Pricing and Prediction

Actually, this is a bit high. The 210HP Auto will start at $25,700 while the 250HP 6Spd will start at $27,200.
With the starting price of the 350Z at $28,500 (and all above mentioned cars coming from more recognizeable brands AND including a stereo system) I still cannot see the STI in the low $30s. The Subaru rep at the Detroit Auto Show, when asked the price, was quoted as saying "we would be surprised."
I am going to go out on a limb right here and now and make the call. Subaru STI $29,999. They simply must be competitive and they need the sales of these cars to stimulate the sales of other models.

HA-HA! YOU WILL NEVER PAY THOSES PRICES FOR ANY OF THOSES CARS!
Never.
If you are lucky, you will get sticker. And the RX8 is 300 hundred pounds lighter than the 350z. Me likes.
