didn't want to drop my nephew off Waipahu cuz at 5pm, Ewa is congested
chanced it anyways.......while in Waipahu, I was fond of the Lightning show. As it got better, it got darker.
So I headed back to Fairways, not even out of Waipahu, IT WAS POUNDING
It was so cool going Old Fort Weaver road. I felt the suspense climbing down my butthole cuz I thought the storm was the s***!!!!

Traffic last night was a total mess!!! Wife & I headed out to fill up the suby w/ petrol. Figured that we would head out and take a drive to Waipahu. Maybe hit Wal-Mart for more Christmas decorations. On the way out, we saw that they closed Fort Weaver coming into Ewa right @ Old Fort Weaver. Road was all flooded and nobody could get through. People had to turn around and go down Farrington towards Kapolei to get into Ewa. Had the lito ones with me so I didn't want to keep them out too long in that mess. I was gonna hit the freeway to Kapolei from Kunia Rd but I saw that the freeway was at a standstill as well. I take it the freeway was flooded too. (Seen it happen before right after the Kunia/Ewa off ramp) Had to turn around by Kunia SC and head to Waikele to hopefully get back on Farrington. From what I could see, H1-Ewa bound was backed up all the way to the H1/H2 merge.Took us about 45 minutes to get back home, which was pretty good time considering the mess that was out there. I just hope that everyone got home safely last night.

i was in that mess too...i was coming home from town at 830, and bypassed the kunia of ramp...i had a feeling the cars were slowed down by westloch fairways (i lived in ewa all my life, and the flooding there ALWAYS happens with heavy rains...)...i didnt know they blocked it and people were turning around though...
i stayed on the freeway, and there was a slowdown by the new UH due to flooding in the left lane, but nothing major...the makakilo off ramp was another story though...i took the campbell industrial exit and went through the back roads by kmart, but eventually the traffic was bad, as i guess all the people turning around was trying to get through to barbers point gate...
my half hour commute turned into an hour-fifteen long commute, but like you said, not as bad as it coulda been...
