I hear this all the time...

Why do people say they got some headers for their Suby or Honda or what ever last time I looked our car and other 4 cylinders only had one exhaust manifold...Am I missing something?? Maybe we need to have a common car terminology thread.

i have suggested it before - its just a matter of one of us guys compiling everything and making a sticky- the thing i suggested was something like a glossary...

haha, i was corrected before, now i only say header for 4 cylinders....

This is something I've inferred because I've never read or heard anything stated as truth.

My understanding is that an exhaust manifold is obviously stock, as well as made of a iron (heavy), and not very efficient with regards to flow, whereas headers are aftermarket, generally of some space-aged, lightweight alloy like 4130 or 4140 chromoly, is nicely designed to facilitate flow and deter turbulence.

Of course, I was assuming.
